First Post for the New Year!

Even a thousand apologies cannot be accepted! I have abandoned this blog for 3 weeks!

I even forgotten to schedule my 3 weeks worth of DIET 101 drafts! How clumsy I can be?! I will post all the 3 weeks of those drafts, including this week's on this Friday.

The truth is, I have absolutely busy with works and personal life. Turns out, it is definitely not easy updating blog regularly, huh? Or is it just my bad habit of doing thing half-hearted-ly? tsk! tsk! tsk!

I hope that it is still not too late for me to wish each and everyone of you, a Happy Christmas and a blessed New Year! Yes, I changed the wishing style a bit. I felt like wishing 'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' is so over used already. Why not changed a bit? Ah! And we were counting the Lunar New Year! 10th and 11th February!

Those who were unable to celebrate the Gregorian Calender's New Year because of what-ever-reason-there-might-be, you can always celebrate the Lunar New Year! I always have 1 resolutions for each new year and it is the same for this year. My first resolution for the Gregorian Calender's New Year is that I want to keep working hard to keep fit so that I got on the normal BMI measurement scale! I haven't went on the scale since before Christmas. I got a bit of a scare to see if I gain weight after so much eating and drinking. YIKES!

Anyway, let us give all the best wishes to my brother, Jenson who is celebrating his 31st birthday today. Oh! Which is also my baby niece 1st birthday, dear An-an!

Apa lagi? Oh! Since Lobo had upgraded his phone from S2 to Note2, he (kinda) lend me his S2. My SE W995 was broken, but fixed, but he still insisted that I use his S2. Sooo.... I got upgraded also lah bah!

Oh! Wishing Happy Newlyweds to my cuzzy Clarence and his wife for their recent New Year wedding. Also my nephew and his wife who got married on the beautiful date, 12 Dec 2012. As well as my niece and her husband who have their divine wedding reception last month! Jangan tanya saya "kau bila".... I will literally do the 'McKayla is not impress' face in front of this almighty computer screen.

Ah! I got such bad luck over the bridge of New Year. Sudah lah mata ni berkotut, then I got bitten by a nursing dog! Hey, chilllll~ It does not hurt one bit, 'kay... Seriously! But the injection I got at the hospital hurt like hell-will-burst-it's-flame! I am not a fan of injection but this one hurt baadddd~ Well not as bad as the second shot of Hepatitis vaccine I got back in 2003. That one almost make me faint, like for real! This recent shot I got... I don't even know what its called, but I think it is the one to prevent us, human, from getting rabies after getting animal bites? It made the injected area felt painful every time I used the injected arm for five days. It gradually ceased off any pain eventually.

I did heard, but not directly to me, that the dog should be shot and killed for biting me as I was the third person it bitten. That scares the hell out of me. The dog did no harm but trying to protect its pup. I was the one to blame for forgetting that it is nursing and easily agitated. I might sound bit loony here, but I rather let my cousin keep the dog because it will come in handy if, knock wood, burglar come to any of our house. No worry though, no animal was harmed in this whole chaotic story.

About my STYE or kotut in Sabahan slang, it got pretty worst last night. Yeah, my stye had been staying so loyaly on my left eye from 29 December till today! What a welcoming health! NOT! It did reduced three times it size compare to last night though. 2 of its pus had discharged itself, without me helping myself to compress them. After realizing the pus had discharged themselves, I quickly sanitize my hands, grab a magnifying mirror, cotton pads and torch. Then, I lightly lightly liiiiiiiiightly pressed on the tender area. It is disgusting to do especially when the pus is on the eye. But I just can't help be fascinated how the pus are flowing out with such light pressure.

Oh~ I can finally wear my old sweater~~ which mean, I am definitely going on the right track toward my old body. I should try one of my old Cheetah polos. They are Medium size, if I could wear them comfortably, that means I am definitely gain back my old normal size! Huahuahuahuahua! WHO THE FRICKING FISH SAID DIETING WON'T HELP PEOPLE TO GET SKINNY! Don't you dare to say "I got lucky!" because luck only contribute 1% of the success I have today. I am lucky that I got the head-strong gene in my DNA. I don't know who passed me down that gene, definitely not one of my parents, but THANKS!

Too much updates in one post will bored people. So from here on, let be kind to one another and have joyous and prosperous days ahead.

DIET 101 - PART II : The Risks "Chapter 2.7"?

I am only sharing my experience & some tips how I loose my weight. These tips & tricks of dieting is what I am comfortable with and happens to suit me and my lifestyle. However, be reminded that what is good for me might not be for you and like wise. Please refer to your doctor, nutritionist and any health experts to discuss what kind of DIET will suit you and your lifestyle. I am not a doctor or a medical expert. Health risk that obese people could face may or may not be revealed in posts regarding with this subject. I may or may not be wrong in my explanation, so I suggest everyone who read this to refer to your doctor or any nearest medical expert to verify this. Readers discretion is highly advised.

People fear of dieting because they are afraid that they will have gastric. What many people doesn't know that if they do not practice balance diet soon, they may or will get these medical problem that connected to the health of our tummy:-

Gastrointestinal
(dealing with stomach & intestines - sistem penghadam mcm perut, usus, dll)
-   Gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD, chronic symptom of mucosal damage caused by stomach acid coming up from the stomach into the esophagus. GERD caused heartburn, trouble swallowing, increased salivation, chest pain, nausea, etc.
-       Fatty liver disease, or in this case, Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, NAFLD, occured when fat is deposited into the liver NOT due to excessive alcohol use. It is related to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome..
-    Cholelithiasis or gallstones. The risks increases for females, especially before menopause. Caused by combination of factors including inherited body chemistry, body weight, gallbladder motility and perhaps diet.
(Masalah batu karang ginjal.
When you see an obese person throwing their gut out in the toilet, don't get judgemental yet. It does not mean that they are being bulimic to get skinny. They might have GERD.

AND don't get assumption that obese people do not get gastric. I know that feeling when I say I got gastric, doubtful mocking eyes that say "YOU? Gastric? Didn't you eat enough?" staring at me like I was saying something ridiculous.

For non Malaysian/Sabahan readers, I don't know if you use the same term, but please note that when a Sabahan says s/he is having gastric, it does not necessarily means s/he got an gastric ulcer. S/he is either saying s/he threw up gastric/stomach acid or severe gastric pain from a mucosal erosions. A Sabahan will insist that s/he is having gastric "only" and will never admit it is a gastric ulcer until s/he is admitted to the hospital for the illness. We are just awesome like that. *note the sarcasm*

Till next time, gorgeous!

Have you heard of the quote "What you eat is what you are"?
I bet every heard and understand what it meant.

But does anyone have any idea how food can effect your skin?
Hah! Everybody knows that. We just don't practice it much.

So here are the medical problem what obesity can effect the biggest organ in human anatomy:-

Dermatology
(dealing with skin problems - berkaitan dgn kulit)
-      Stretch mark or scarring of the skin caused to tearing of the dermis and due to rapid stretching of the skin with rapid growth or rapid weight changes. Will diminish overtime but do not completely dissapear.
-    Acanthosis nigricans is a condition where the skin on body folds such as posterior and lateral folds of the neck, groin, forehead, etc formed a velvety hyperpigmentation
(Hyperpigmentasi kulit pd bahagian2 yg boleh membuat lipatan seperti leher, celah kangkang, dahi dll.)
-     Lymphedema water retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system
(penahanan cecair yg menyebabkan anggota badan yg terlalu ‘penat’ atau tidak diberi rehat secukupnya, bengkak)
-     Cellulitis, not cellulite, localized or diffuse inflammation of connective tissue with severe inflammation of dermal and subdutaneous layers of the skin.
-      Hirsutism, excessive hairiness on women, on parts hair does not normally occur like moustache and beard caused by the rising of androgens, the male hormones. There are evidence implicates high circulating level of insulin (where the body resist against it) on women with hirsutism. Experimental treatments that lower insulin levels lead to reduction in hirsutism.
(satu kondisi yg kebykannya terjadi pd kaum hawa dimana bulu/rambut tumbuh di bahagian tubuh yg biasanya tidak berlaku seperti misai dan janggut. Terdpt satu kejian yg membuktikan, kandungan darah pd wanita yg menghidap hirsutism mengandungi jumlah insulin yg tinggi. Bila perubatan percubaan dgn mengurangkan kandungan insulin dilakukan terhadap wanita tersebut, sindrom hisutism berkurangan.)
-       Intertrigo is an inflammation of the body fold by bacteria and fungal.
(Kurap, Radang kulit di bahagian lipatan yg terjadi kerana jangkitan kuman & kulat)
I have not give birth to any child, but I already have stretch marks. Blame my gluttony!

Be sure to check out more on next post!

Oh yeah, please give a comments on my posts! I will really appreciates that!

Thanks!

Bones are not only to help us to move around and about, we have bones because we need them to support our heavy muscles. Not to forget, bones like the rib-cage and skull are to protect the important but fragile organs like the brain, heart and the lungs. Oh! The bone marrow, soft flexible tissue on the heads of long bones like the femur, help us to produce red blood cells.

So here what obesity can effect our bones:-

Rheumatology & Orthopedics
(dealing with the joints & human musculoskeletal system - berkaitan dgn tulang lembut, ligamen tulang & tulang2)
-        Gout (Gaut)
-        Poor mobility
(pergerakan terhad/terganggu)
-      Osteoarthritis normally affects older people where the joints wear out. There are suppose to be a layer of of surface of the joint but wear out due age and exposed the naked bone to rub against other naked bone. It cause stiffness, pain and may be swelling. Can be prevented with drinking calcium
(Biasanya terjadi pada org tua dimana sendi terasa sakit/pedih/ngilu akibat keradangan ringan yg timbul akibat gesekan diantara ujung tulang penyusun sendi.
-      Low back pain, in this case, caused by extreme obese/huge belly and lack of exercises.
(sakit pinggang disbbkan kegemukkan yg melampau/ perut buncit dan kurang bersenam.)

I have quite the problems when it comes to back pain when I was still an obese. That reminds me, everytime I consume foods with high Ajinomoto (monosodium glutamate), I'm not sure and haven't have any expert opinion on this but I think it is from the MSG, I got such terrible back pain that would spread to my feet and head. It annoys the hell out of me and decided to leave Ajinomoto for guesses food instead of mine. Hehe..

Next health risk in Obesity will follow right up after this.

wink!

An Apology Post For You

Note: I am dedicating this post to a lovely friend, the ever beautiful Lala.

Ooopsie daisy!

My dear friend, Lala, message me over the weekend saying how she waits for my weekly post of DIET 101 and I realize something, I FORGOT TO POST MY WEEKLY DIET 101 FOR LAST WEEK!

Therefore, I would like to send my apology to all of you who have been waiting for it.

I know I shouldn't have to mix up my apology with my excuse, but I must tell that I forgotten about it because I have problem with my computer. May be there is a virus or "kacau-ware" in my computer, so I had to transfer all of my things in my CPU memory into my external hard-drive. I was busy doing all those things, plus some works in the office and keep looking out on the Norikoh issue and plus nohohing nogi, lupa daaaa.....

Sorry, minta maaf,

And I am very flattered that Lala said I inspire her when it comes to dieting. I am always happy whenever people say or ask how I have lost my excessive weight. But being said to inspire someone, that gave a whole new feeling to me. It gave me new hope and quite flaming my determination. Thank you, Lala. Your message makes me want to keep blogging.

Since I forgotten to post the regarding post, I will post two of it on the same day this Friday.

So please stay tune.

xxx
